These mantles are Eastern Red Cedar 1/2 logs which are then re-sawn with a flat back for mounting to a wall or fireplace. Eastern Red Cedar which is also known as Aromatic Cedar provides great color and character for mantles. We can usually ship most mantles by DHL up to about 7 feet in length, longer mantles may have to go truckline. We generally do not use mantle supports with these. But, if you want the look of a supported mantle with a flat back we can do it. Mounting hardware is not provided.
Mantles are availiable in various widths and finish options, select at the drop down menu below.
Widths vary by range. Due to the natural character of our cedar, at some point a 7" to 9" mantle may be less than 7"
or greater than 9" but will average about 8" in width, a 9" to 11" will average about 10" on top and so on.
Select below; 7" to 9" wide on top, 9" to 11" wide on top, and 11" to 13" wide on top.
Sanding options are;
- Unsanded-(peeled and rough sawn)
- Sanded-(sanded smooth and ready for finish)
Finish options are;
- Polyurethane-(sanded and finished with three coats of acrylic polyurethane)
- Epoxy-(Sanded with polyurethane on all but the top, the top is finished with a very durable pour on epoxy finish)
Please allow at least 1 week additional lead time for epoxy finished mantles.
The price is per linear or running foot. To purchase, enter the length in feet required in the quantity box
(shopping cart accepts even footages only, for other than even footages round to the next even foot, then note
length needed in comments box).
Most mantles and slabs ship in 2 to 4 weeks. Generally shipping charges indicated by the shopping cart are correct but, because of size and weight variations, and due to special charges for some rural areas the shopping cart may not always correctly calculate shipping costs for your order. If shipping charges are not correct we will contact you before your order is processed.
Most of the time shipping on mantles 5 foot long and less is around $75, $95 on 6 foot and $135 on 7 foot mantles which can ship by Fedex or UPS. Shipping on some larger 6 and 7 foot mantles, and most mantles longer than 7 feet is by truckline and will be quoted for your approval by phone or email before you are charged. All mantles 9 feet and longer must ship by truckline.

To place your order;
- Select the desired size and sanding option from the drop down menus below.
- Click on add to cart.
- Then adjust the total number of linear feet desired in the quantity box on the checkout page. (i.e. a 5 foot 6 inch long mantle, enter "6" in the quantity box).
- Click update.
- Then in the comments box on the checkout page let us know how you would like the mantle cut. (i.e. cut to 5 feet 6 inches long).
- Enter your billing and shipping information and click place order.
